"In my line of work, I’m very skeptical about who I allow in my house let alone who I trust with my belongings. I was referred to Adolfo and Sons by a partner, and I have to say I’m more than pleased with their work. I did not know until the last minute that I was going to get the keys to the new house. Yes, I scheduled them ahead of time, but the appointment time passed and they had to send their crew home. When I explained I had to be out of my house, he was able to call enough guys back, they worked until 130 in the morning to get us moved. Needless to say it was the second house they moved in the day, and they were probably tired. However, they remained professional throughout the entire job. If you are not in a hurry and have some flexibility in your schedule, giving us a time window for your moving, will help us a lot to schedule without stress.

Your first step is see the reviews of your options. It’s a good idea to research first local moving companies — ask people you know for a referral. Investigate each of the movers you select with the Better Business Bureau. Good service is the best measure of a good mover!

Try to reach the moving company with as much time as possible, especially if you are moving during a busy summer season. Six weeks from your actual move date is a great time frame for estimators to come into your home and complete a visual survey of your household goods shipment.

Additionally, call the mover to confirm your booking and schedule your packing, loading and delivery dates. This time frame can be shortened if you are moving outside of the peak moving season.

Once this is completed, he or she will calculate the weight, packing cost and any other charge related to your move — please remember that the relocation specialist must clearly see what you are moving in order to provide you with an accurate estimate. This will not occur on one or two small items, but if you anticipate eliminating an entire bedroom suite and do not do so, it is quite possible that this could violate the integrity of your binding estimate, or cause the driver to run out of space.

All loose items must be packed in boxes to prevent loss or damage while moving. It is recommended that you pack all items and leave the drawers empty.
